1, LUNES 11 DE JUNIO DE 2007 - El XIV Capítulo Provincial del Oeste de los EE.UU. Será oficialmente convocado
a las 7:30 P.M., por el Padre Gonzalo Fernández Sanz, C.M.F., Prefecto General
de Espiritualidad y Presidente del Capítulo. Dieciocho delegados, miembros
adicionales de la provincia, así como el Padre Alejandro Ceron, C.M.F.,
el provincial de la provincia de México, están presentes. El retiro del
Capítulo está en progreso actualmente en el centro de retiros de los Claretianos
en Los Angeles. (1: 45 P.M.)
Después
de la convocación oficial del Capítulo Provincial aproximadamente a las
7:30 P.M., con los 18 delegados del capítulo, los miembros de la provincia
y los visitantes Claretianos presentes, el Presidente del Capítulo, Padre
Gonzalo Fernández Sanz, C.M.F., condujo a los miembros en negocios oficiales
del Capítulo, incluyendo la elección del Padre Art Gramaje, C.M.F. como
secretario del Capítulo.
Una
de las primeras acciones oficiales del capítulo era autorizar la elección
directa del Superior y del consejo Provincial por todos los miembros perpetuos
profesados de la provincia con voz activa y pasiva.
Después
de algunas otras tareas administrativas, el Capítulo aplazó hasta el desayuno
a las 8:00 A.M., de la mañana del martes. (9: 20 P.M.)
DÍA 2, MARTES 12 DE JUNIO DE 2007 – Padre Gonzalo Fernández Sanz, C.M.F., Presidente del Capítulo, comenzó nuestra sesión de la mañana leyendo una carta de nuestro General Superior, Padre Josep Abella, C.M.F., animando el Capítulo y expresando su esperanza y oraciones, mientras que también nos animaba a que sigamos siendo fieles a nuestro carisma especial de misionarios como Claretianos en los Estados Unidos hoy.
Las actas de la sesión de abertura del lunes fueron leídos y aprobados por el Capítulo.
El Padre Gonzalo anunció la selección del Padre Brian Culley, C.M.F. y Padre Steve Niskanen, C.M.F. como asesores, y Padres Frank Ferrante, C.M.F., Paul Keller, C.M.F. y Daryl Olds, C.M.F. como el comité para la revisión de los minutos.
Un informe detallado del gobierno de los últimos seis años fue presentado por nuestro Superior Provincial, Padre Roland Lozano, C.M.F.
Concluimos la sesión de la mañana con la Eucaristía con el Padre Alejandro Ceron, C.M.F., provincial de la provincia de México como celebrante. (1: 10 P.M.)
Nuestras sesiones de la tarde concluyeron todos los informes de la prefectura y dialogo
El Padre Eddie DeLeon, C.M.F., Provincial de la Provincia del Este de los EE.UU., llegó esta tarde como huésped del Capítulo y fue dada oficialmente la bienvenida.
El Capítulo continuara hasta la mañana del miércoles. (9: 30 P.M.)
DÍA 3, MIÉRCOLES 13 DE JUNIO DE 2007 - Nuestra sesión comenzó con una oración, una lectura y la aprobación de las actas del martes. Entonces comenzamos la etapa de planeamiento del Capítulo con la revisión, el dialogo, y la aprobación de las resoluciones del Capítulo para las áreas de Finanzas y de Espiritualidad.
El Obispo Gabino Zavala, obispo auxiliar de Los Angeles fue el celebrante principal de la Eucaristía.(1: 10 P.M.)
El Padre Richard DeTore , C.M.F., actualmente pastor de la parroquia Sagrado Corazón en Prescott, Arizona, se ha elegido Superior provincial . Felicitamos y agradecemos al Padre Richard por su espíritu de disponibilidad y le ofrecemos nuestra ayuda piadosa y fraternal. (4: 45 P.M.)
DÍA 4, JUEVES 14 DE JUNIO DE 2007 - La mañana comenzó con oración al inmaculado corazón de Maria y la confirmación del Padre Gonzalo Fernández Sanz, C.M.F., presidente del capítulo, de la elección de Richard DeTore como Provincial. La revisión y la aprobación de las actas siguieron.
La sesión de mañana continuó con la declaración del Padre Richard DeTore de la preferencia que un total de cuatro Consultores se elija para el nuevo consejo provincial, consistiendo del Ecónomo y los tres Consultores en-grande. El capítulo votó para apoyar la nueva preferencia provincial. La fase de la elección del capítulo entonces continuó con la elección del Padre Fred LeClaire, C.M.F., de Prescott, Arizona, como Ecónomo. Felicitamos y ofrecemos nuestra ayuda fraternal y apoyo hacia el Padre Fred. (1: 45 P.M.)
DÍA 5, VIERNES 15 DE JUNIO DE 2007 - El presidente del Capítulo, Padre Gonzalo Fernández Sanz, C.M.F., orientó el capítulo para que el trabajo sea terminado en este día final. El Padre Art Gramaje, C.M.F., secretario del Capítulo, leyó las actas del jueves. Las actas entonces fueron aprobadas.
La fase de la elección del capítulo continuó con la confirmación del Padre Daryl Olds, C.M.F., Padre José Sánchez, C.M.F., y Padre Paul Keller, C.M.F. como Consultores en-grande. El Capítulo ofreció el apoyo fraternal para su nuevo ministerio a la provincia y a la congregación.
La fase del planeamiento continuó con las resoluciones de la Espiritualidad. Concluimos el trabajo actual hasta la 1:00 P.M., y procedimos a la capilla para la Eucaristía de instalacíon para el nuevo Provincial, Padre Richard DeTore, C.M.F., en este día del banquete del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús. Nuestra sesión final incluyó el trabajo sobre las resoluciones en las áreas de Espiritualidad, Formación y Vocaciones, Ministerio y Jurídico. Concluimos el XIV Capítulo Provincial de nuestra provincia del Oeste de los EE.UU. con una evaluación y palabras finales de gratitud y oración. (6:15 P.M.)
The XIV Provincial Chapter of our U.S. Western Province will take place at the Claretian Retreat Center in Los Angeles from June 11-15, 2007. Each province of delegation of the Congregation meets every three to six years for a canonical Chapter of Elections. The Chapter includes formal resolutions that will guide the province life and mission during the following three to six years. As the Constitutions of our Claretian Missionaries state:
"The provincial chapter is the instrument that represents the province and expresses the participation, joint responsibility and communion of the whole province. The greatest care should be taken to see to it that through this chapter the provincial community may achieve the greatest inner strength in its missionary life while adapting and opening itself to the general community of the Institute." (No. 122)
We will make every possible effort to fulfill our mission as Claretian Missionaries in the Western United States and throughout the world, most especially in light of the needs and challenges reflected in the XXIII General Chapter Declaration That They May Have Life . Calling us "Servants of Life," the General Chapter Declaration urges: "We have been invited by the Master to 'enter into Life' ( Mt 19:17) and to live it fully: to be with him, and to be sent to preach with the power to overcome evil (cf Mk 3:14-15). If we are not united with Jesus, if we do not walk with Him, we will not have life (cf Jn 15:5). All missionaries (brothers, students and ordained ministers) are servants of life within our own particular ministry and status. We serve life when:
--We enjoy it and celebrate it as a gift of God;
--We attend to others by giving them the best of ourselves in the "prophecy of ordinary life";
--We defend it, contribute to its development and education, and proclaim its ultimate purpose in our missionary service;
--We commit our own life, in work, in prayer, and in suffering, so that others may live." (No. 14)
Our XIV Chapter will be presided over by Father Gonzalo Fernandez Sanz, C.M.F., General Prefect of Spirituality for the Congregation and member of our General Government in Rome . Final preparations are presently taking place under the leadership of our Pre-Capitular Committee and Provincial Council. We look forward to a spirit-filled chapter that will enable us to live faithfully our vocation as Sons of Mary's Heart-passionate Servants of the Word of Life-for our world in this new millennium of Christianity.
Following the dynamic example of Saint Anthony Mary Claret, our Founder, a prayerful spirit of humility before God, one another, and those whom we have been called to serve, especially the poor and marginalized, will empower us to live and serve with the love of Christ, and open our hearts to our mission as disciples of the Risen Christ. Faithfulness to our Claretian missionary spirituality and daily prayer life is a central component of the success of the chapter. Please join us in praying the Prayer for Our XIV Provincial Chapter . May the days and weeks ahead be filled with grace, hope and peace for us all.
