Claretian Missionaries held their first USA Provincial Chapter during the third week of August in Chicago. The USA province was born on February 2, 2011 during an assembly of 80 Claretian Missionaries serving in the United States. The new province is the fruit of efforts of Claretian Missionaries who arrived in this country from Spain and Mexico in 1902. The 30th Annual Memorial Mass for Father Aloysius Ellacuria, C.M.F. was held at his grave site at the Old Mission in San Gabriel, San Gabriel, California, Saturday, April 9, 2011.
Funeral Mass and Burial took place Thursday, February 11, 2010 at San Gabriel Mission, San Gabriel, CA, for Father Edward Widmer, CMF , 87, a Claretian Missionary for 70 years, who died after several months of declining health on February 11, 2010 in San Gabriel, CA. (read more...)

Thanksgiving Day, November the 26th 2009, I arrived in Juba, Sudan to begin another adventure in my life. Never in my wildest dreams did I believe that I would be asked to work on a hobby that I have always had a passion for for. I was contacted from Rome by my congregation of the Missionary Sons of the Immaculate Heart of Mary to consider working in construction for Solidarity with Southern Sudan in Wau, Sudan. The special celebration took place at San Gabriel Mission in San Gabriel, CA where Niño will be serving his pastoral year.
We also have the pleasure to announce our newly professed student, Reynante "Rey" Alcantara, who professed his first vows of chastity, poverty and obedience as a Claretain Missionary in San Cristobal, Guatemala, on Sunday, August 3, 2008. May the Holy Spirit inspire Niño and Rey in the "Fire of Christ's love" as it did our founder St. Anthony Claret.
RECEPTION OF NOVICES
With great joy the Claretian Missionaries of the Western Province received into the Novitiate, Francisco Hernandez from the Western Province, Douglas Berrios and Manuel Delgado from the Eastern Province. The reception took place August 14, 2008 in the Chapel of Dominguez Seminary in Rancho Dominguez, CA. We congratulate Francisco, Douglas and Manuel as a new journey begins. Our Theology student, Heherson "Niño" Balabbo, C.M.F., renewed his vows of chastity, poverty and obedience as a Claretian Missionary on Monday, July 16, 2007, the 158th Anniversary of the Foundation of our Congregation. The special Eucharist took place in the Church of Saint Anthony Mary Claret in Mexico City where Niño is currently studying Spanish. We congratulate Niño and thank the Mexican Province for their hospitality and support for our brother's vocation and life as a Claretian Missionary. May the Heart of Mary always protect and guide Niño in his faithful and loving response to God's call.
